Visit Nepal Year 2020 Boosted at Hong Kong Expo

Kathmandu: Nepal participated at 33 International Travel Expo (ITE) and the 14 MICE (Meetings,
incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) expo held in Hongkong from June 13-16, 2019 to promote Visit Nepal Year 2020.

According to Nepal Tourism Board’s press statement released on Monday, NTB alongside six tourism companies participated in the Expo.

The ITE Hong Kong is the successful combination of high international exhibitors and regional trade visitors, leisure, MICE and theme travels, and visitors of trade, with 200 audiences.

Over 80 thousand people visited the fair including 12,000 trade and MICE visitors of which over 70
percent from Hong Kong and some 30 percent from mainland China and abroad; and in the other two public days approximately 80 thousand visited the fair.

There were around 650 exhibitors, of which 15 were from different countries and remaining were the travel agencies and tour operators. The affluent travelers were briefed about the national campaign Visit Nepal Year 2020.

Nepali free souvenirs like the peacock window, Buddha Statue, and posters of Everest, Pokhara, and Lumbini were distributed at the expo. On trade days, tour operators/travel agents were briefed about the campaign and requested their assistance in promoting Nepal through their websites/catalogs.

The participating companies were Apoorva Tours Pvt. Ltd, Dragon Holidays, Koili Tours Pvt. Ltd, Nepal Big Mountain Travel Pvt. Ltd, One Himalayan Adventure Pvt. Ltd and Outdoor Expedition Pvt. Ltd.

NepalTourism Board was represented by Santosh Bikram Thapa, Sr. Officer, and Pradip Basnet, Mr.Kamal Prasad Bhattarai, Consul General of Nepal, in Hong Kong,  NRN Hong Kong, and Nepal Hongkong. Chamber of Commerce presidents also visited the Nepal booth.
