Nepal Airlines for Additional Flights to New Delhi and UAE

Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines (NA) is mulling over adding more flights to New Delhi and United Arab Emirates (UAE) with effect from July 1, 2019.

Plans are underway to add seven flights to New Delhi, while one more flight will be added to UAE instead of three flights per week, said the NA press statement issued Tuesday.

NA has been taking 14 flights to New Delhi by adding three more flights since April 29,2019, after Indian air company JET airways stopped its regular flights to Kathmandu.

The airfare to Delhi has suddenly soared double after JET airways stopped making flights.

Now, NA will have 21 flights in a week from July 15, 2019. Both the aviation departments of Nepal and India have already reached a common consensus on this issue, added the statement.

NA is the only Nepali airline that takes flights to Delhi while Air India and Air Indigo also make regular flights to Kathmandu.

The NA has also managed all arrangements for the training of pilots for domestic flights.

The training of two pilots for grounded Chinese plane is also going on.

The repair of planes will also be undertaken by the engineers of NA since July, which was earlier done in foreign countries.

An estimated amount of Rs 5 to 6 million rupees will be saved from such arrangement.
