Nepal Government Steps Back from Hosting IIFA Award

Kathmandu: Nepal government has stepped back from hosting the 20th edition of the International Indian Academy (IIFA) award in Nepal after clamorous voices raised against this award function in Nepali media.

Earlier, Nepal’s cabinet meeting had decided to host the IIFA award function in Kathmandu by granting an estimated budget of Rs 4.4 million dollars.

The CEO of Nepal Tourism Board Dipak Raj Joshi confirmed to the Kantipur FM that the government decided to step back from hosting this mammoth gathering of the Indian Bollywood artists including film producers, directors, actors, and actresses.
