International Film City to Come Up in Lamjung

Kathmandu: An international film city is likely to be constructed at the Besishahar municipality in the Lamjung district.

Aakash Adhikari, the chairperson of Sky Entertainment Private Limited Nepal, and Chairperson Francisco Signoriello on behalf of World Area Holding SRL (an Italian company) formally signed the agreement Wednesday to construct the ‘film city’ of international standard at Besishahar in Lamjung.

This is the first film city to be constructed in Nepal, in an area of 5000 ropany of land. The film city will be constructed by covering the areas adjacent to Besishahar Municipality ward 3,4 and 5, at Puranokot and Bakhrejagat.

Ministers for Communication and Information Technology Mr. Gokul Prasad Banskota said that the film city will be a benchmark for Nepal.

The international technological infrastructure of the film city includes facilities such as film shooting spots, Editing studio, hotel, playground, etc.

The Mayor of Besishahar Municipality -Guman Singh Aryal, Vice Mayor Laxmi Devi Adhikari were also present on the occasion.
