Revised visa fee for foreigners to effect from July 17, 2019

Kathmandu: Nepal government’s Immigration Department is going to raise visa fee for foreigners with effect from 17 July 2019.

The visa fee is being increased as per the decision of the government made on 26 May 2019, said a notice published on the official website of the Immigration Department. The government revised the visa fee after 10 years.

According to the immigration department, the new visa fee for the Tourist visa for 15 days (multiple entries), 30 days (multiple entries) and 90 days (multiple entries) has been fixed at USD 30, USD 50 and USD 125 respectively.

Likewise, for visa extension (within valid visa period), with multiple entries and after visa expiry has been fixed at USD 3 per day, USD 25 additional and late fee USD 5 per day respectively.

Similarly, the new visa or visa extension for students and their dependents (degree program) is fixed at USD 30 per month, and a new visa or visa extension for students and their dependents (non-degree program) is fixed at USD 75 per month.  Study visa for Bhutanese students and their dependents is fixed at USD 15 per month.

Likewise, the visa fee for non-tourists (foreigners with Nepali origin) and foreigners working in Nepal with their dependents, including journalists has been raised from USD 10 to USD 75 per month, depending upon the nature of visa and working status.

Business visa for foreigners and their dependents having an investment of more than NRs 100 million or less (multiple entry visa), along with their dependents has been raised from USD 20 per month to USD 500 per year depending upon the nature of their stay and entry in Nepal.

Also, the residential new visa with multiple entry facility has been raised to USD 500 per year, while visa renewal with multiple entry facility is rated at USD 200 per year. The changed visa fee structure is given below:
