Dolpo festival to kick off from 10 September 2019

Kathmandu: Dolpo festival is to kick-off from 10-14 September 2019, to highlight the hidden topography of Dolpa, its cultures, heritages, and promote the government’s declared national program- Nepal Visit Year 2020.

Dolpa (Dolpo) elevated at a height of 1525 meters to 7625 meters above sea level, has a unique confluence of Dolpo language, cultures, and natural beauty.

The date for the Dolpo festival was made public at a press conference held in Kathmandu by Vision Dolpo and Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality.

According to Gyalpo Thapa Bhote, the coordinator for Dolpo festival’s main organizing committee, the festival is being organized to boost up Dolpa’s tourism, sustained development, protect old cultures, natural heritages, and highlight Dolpa’s existing problems for solutions.

Bhote also said that the festival will focus on highlighting the significance of Upper Dolpo and Lower Dolpo to target external as well as internal tourists.

At least 200 homestays, tents, and schools have been arranged to cater to the needs of the guests during the festival. The Dolpo Buddha region also has 10 hotels.
