TAAN set to hold 41st AGM to elect the new executive committee

Kathmandu: Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) is all set to hold its 41ist Annual General Assembly (AGM) slated for 6 September 2019, which is expected to elect a new executive committee for a two-year term, 2019-2021.

According to the TAAN secretariat all the members of TAAN currently are engaged in the election environment to elect 17 persons including 1 President, 1 Senior Vice President, 1 Vice- President, 2nd Vice President, General Secretary,  Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and nine members.

Of the total of 17 executive team members, one member must be a female according to the statute of the TAAN.

The election fees for TAAN’s executive team are also fixed as Rs 60,000 for the post of President, Rs 40,000 for other executive posts and Rs 25000 for the post of members. These fees are non-refundable.

However, the total team of TAAN will comprise of 25 members including elected 17 from AGM, 6 nominated, one immediate former President and one representative as TAAN Pokhara President for a two-year term.

TAAN has a membership of 1700 tourism entrepreneurs, of which only 1200 members have renewed their membership.
