Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai said Friday that it was the obligation of all Nepalese to bring 2 million tourists and make the visit year 2020 a success.
Speaking during an interaction program organized by the secretariat for the visit year 2020 in Kathmandu, Minister Bhattarai insisted on the collective role of all tourism entrepreneurs, political party leaders, foreign-based embassies and artists to assist in bringing 2 million tourists in Nepal.
Minister Bhattarai also called upon all tourism entrepreneurs to submit their action plans to bring tourists to the secretariat of visit year within three days according to which the government’s future action plans will be integrated.
Minister Bhattarai added that a mammoth oath-taking ceremony will be held in Tundikhel in the presence of Prime Ministers K.P. Oli Sharma to bring the tourists in the country. He indicated that all instructions have been given to the Chinese company overseeing the Bhairava airport construction to complete the construction works of by 31ist December 2019.
Various tourism entrepreneurs present on the occasion presented their summary of plans to bring in 2 million tourists during the visit year 2020.
Minister also said that the government will do everything to prepare the infrastructure of tourism and official letters will be sent to the ambassadors abroad to observe the visit year.
Coordinator for the visit year 2020 Suraj Vaiday speaking during the same program said that the initial phase for advertisements for the visit year abroad has been completed. He also called upon all stakeholders to boost up the government’s campaign to bring 2 million tourists in the country.
On January 1, 2020, in Kathmandu and seven provinces and embassies, candles will be kindled to mark the occasion of the visit year 2020.
