PM Oli further said that since the second international airport –Gautam Buddha International Airport-was going to be launched very soon and the air safety was improving in Nepal, the international community should consider Nepal a safer destination.

According to the Civil Aviation Department, the five-day conference was being held to collect suggestions related to air safety in the Asia-Pacific region.  Similar conferences of Director Generals of Asia-Pacific Civil Aviation were held in Nepal in 1978 and 1998 as well.
