Over 200 to summit Manaslu peak

Kathmandu: Ten climbers from two groups have sought permission to summit Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) in the autumn season this year.
In the same period last year, no climbers had taken any permission to summit Everest.
The tourism department has permitted climbers of 44 countries to summit Everest (Sagarmatha) along with the other 11 peaks according to Tourism Department Director-General Dandu Raj Ghimire.
Ghimire also added that all climbers have headed towards the Everest base camp after seeking permission.
“Over 200 climbers have already headed for base camp to summit Manaslu peak this year. They are ready to summit Manaslu as soon as weather conditions become suitable for them,” said Ghimire.
