Nepal observes 40th World Tourism Day

Kathmandu: Nepal is observing the 40th World Tourism Day 2019 with the slogan, “Tourism and Jobs: a Better Future for All” amidst various activities.

Issuing a press release Friday, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai called upon all stakeholders of the tourism sector to work towards celebrating September 27, 2019, as the World Tourism Day in Nepal and exploit the tourism sector for the prosperity of the people and the country.

The press release further said that since the government has already declared a national campaign–Nepal visit year 2020 -to bring at least 2 million tourists in the country every year, all concerned stakeholders including private agencies, three tiers of government bodies such as local bodies, provincial and federal government are engaged in promoting the tourism-related activities at national and international level and working towards common goal.

“The government is mulling over working towards the tourism infrastructures and implementing the feedbacks and recommendations submitted by the study group of the tourism sector,” added the press release.
