Chinese President Xi to encourage Chinese travelers to visit Nepal in 2020
Kathmandu: Chinese President Xi Jinping during his banquet speech in Kathmandu Saturday expressed his commitment that he would encourage Chinese travelers to visit Nepal during the year 2020 that might substantially promote Nepal’s campaign for visit year 2020.
Chinese premier Xi also assured the Nepal government that China will make efforts to make Nepal turn into a land-linked country by enhancing the connectivity between the two countries via land.
Xi referred to the study of trans-Himalayan railway and construction of Kerung-Kathmandu tunnel road including the upgrading of Arniko Highway that links Tatopani and Kathmandu.
Chinese President was speaking during a dinner party hosted in honor of Xi by Nepal’s President Bidhya Devi Bhandari in Kathmandu on Saturday evening.
Xi also remarked that Buddhism is one of the local religions of China which is followed by the highest number of people in the world while Lumbini is the country of Buddha.
Before the departure of Chinese premier both the countries have also signed an 18 point mutual agreement pertinent to the development of physical structure, industries, transportation, agriculture, Ayurveda, opening of universities, water, tunnel, border security and curbing the crimes across the borders.
Xi returned to China in the afternoon on Sunday after completing his two days state visit of Nepal.
