Kathmandu: Although Nepal is an agro-based country yet it continues to thrive with a bleak future in food security as it relies much on the import of food items.

As Nepal celebrates the 39th World Food Day in Kathmandu to mark the universal day on October 16, 2019, the US Ambassador to Nepal Berry observed this universal day by tasting his delectable dishes of Thakali daal bhat and Momos at Boudha.

Although Nepal was ushered into FAO as one of its members in 1951, Nepal has not yet made any substantial contributions in the field of food security. The food security continues to remain a bigger challenge for the Nepali population.
