Kathmandu: Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) with effect from October 19, 2019, is going to launch its “first Buddhist Circuit train” to take the interested Indian and Nepalese tourists to various important sites related to Lord Buddha according to media reports Friday.
The Indian train during this trip will take the passengers to various destinations such as Lumbini in Nepal and Bodhgaya in the Indian state of Bihar said the reports.
Similarly, the train will pass through India’s Sarnath in Varanasi and Kushinagar in Nepal where Buddha had attained his nirvana.
“The significance of these destinations can be seen in the Mahaparinirvana sutra, wherein the Lord Buddha tells his followers that they can attain merit and a noble rebirth by going on pilgrimages to these places, “added the report.
