MoU on tourism promotion signed between ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ secretariat and NRNA

Kathmandu: ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ secretariat and Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) pertinent to tourism promotion to change the economic landscape of Nepal on Monday.

The MoU was signed by Suraj Vaidhya, coordinator of ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ tourism promotional campaign and Kumar Panta, newly elected President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) at the Nepal Tourism Board.

According to the MoU a Nepalese person or an organization sending the highest number of foreign firends to visit Nepal during the visit year 2020 will be awarded by the organization with the help of the government. Nepal tourism board will play a significant role in arranging formal seminars and programs conducted by NRNA in Nepal throughout the year.

NRNA will launch ‘Spend holidays in Nepal with family and friends’ campaign among non-resident Nepalese around the world. The organization will provide the necessary manpower to set up a ‘Visit year promotion cell’ at all the Nepalese Embassies in foreign countries. To promote ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ NRNA will organize cars and cycle rallies in major cities of the world.

Furthermore, there has also been an arrangement to distribute attractive promotional materials of Nepal to Non-residential Nepali business firms, hotels, and restaurants. In addition, NRNA will arrange stickers with the logo of ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ to put on the vehicles of Nepali and other people in foreign countries.

Likewise, according to the MoU, NRNA will organize “Miss NRN International” in at least 50 countries and the “Finale of Miss NRN International 2020″ will be held within June in Nepal. The organization will also help in the digital marketing of Nepal in foreign countries. It will encourage various Nepali as well as other foreign organizations to deliver a positive information about ‘Visit Nepal” in their social media platform.

Also, the tourism board will produce promotional material of ‘Visit Nepal 2020’ and NRNA will conduct a program to distribute the promotional material at bus station, railway station, and major cities in foreign countries. The tourism board will discuss with travel agencies, tour operators, and media of foreign countries about the promotion of Visit Nepal 2020.

Furthermore, the tourism board will allocate a certain amount of discounts for the tourists coming to Nepal through a Nepalese friend or organization. The NRNA will arrange the budget required for the above plans and programs.
