‘Destination Mardi Himal’ campaign kicks off
Kathmandu: Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry has kicked off the ‘Destination Mardi Himal’ campaign aimed at tourism promotion.
The campaign has kicked off by beginning a trek to Mt Mardi Thursday, with the objective of augmenting the Internal Tourism Year 2019 announced by the Gandaki Provincial government and the Visit Nepal Year 2020 announced by the Government of Nepal, according to RSS report Thursday.
Leader of the trekking team and President of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Damu Adhikari said that the Chamber set the Destination Mardi Mountain campaign for promoting the two visit years declared by the state government and the Federal government by developing a tourism culture.
Stating that the Chamber has kept the publicity of the tourism destinations in Pokhara and surrounding areas in the first priority, he said that they were ready to lend a hand in the promotional programs announced by the government.
Adhikari also added that they were ready to work hand in hand with the state government in the ‘holiday tourism’ concept it has brought. Along with Chamber president Adhikari, the trekking group is comprised of the Chamber’s executive committee members and staff. The team will trek up to the base camp of the Mt Mardi (4,600 meters) in four days.
