Two widows Nima and Furdiki reach atop Mt. Ama Dablam

Kathmandu: Nima Doma Sherpa, 34 and Furdiki Sherpa, 42 of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality-4 have successfully summited Mt. Ama Dablam on 3rd of November 2019 at 8.54 am in this season after successfully climbing the Mt Everest in the last season.

Nima Doma Sherpa and Furdiki Sherpa are two of many women widowed by the mountains of Nepal. Both women mountaineers prefer to be called widows rather than a single women.

Nima Doma’s husband Chiring Wangchu Sherpa, a Sherpa climber, died in April 2014 from avalanche and Furdiki’s husband Mingmar Sherpa, an icefall doctor, died in 2013 after falling in a crevasse while paving the track in the Everest region.

Nima Doma Sherpa and Furdiki Sherpa who summited Ama Dablam through Two-Widows expedition thanked everybody through social media for their immense support.
