Half dozen foreign airlines to make flights to Nepal in 2020
Kathmandu: On the eve of Nepal Visit Year 2020, more than half a dozen foreign airline companies are preparing to make flights to Nepal.
According to RSS, India, Australia, Kuwait, and Finland are ready with at least one airline to take flights to Nepal during the Nepal visit year 2020.
In this connection, Kuwait’s Jazeera Airlines, Spice Jet Airlines and Vistara of India have already got permission for flights to Nepal from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal.
Jazeera Airlines will be taking flights to Nepal with effect from November 17, 2019, and the two Indian airline companies will be taking flights to Nepal from the second week of December 2019.
Foreign airline companies before taking flights to Nepal must undergo a mutual agreement and then take permission from the Tourism Ministry and Civil Aviation Authority.
With the initiation of foreign flights to Nepal, it is expected that it will boost up the Nepal Visit Year 2020 to a greater extent and help in bringing many tourists to Nepal.
Nepal Tourism Board claims that at least 1.2 million tourists came to Nepal in 2018 and in the last 10 months of the current year 2019 at least 1 million tourists have arrived in Nepal.
Currently, 28 foreign airlines including three Nepali airlines are operating flights and now the number of flights will reach 31 with the initiation of three more foreign flights in Nepal.
