Influx of tourists from Bangladesh to Nepal plummets
Kathmandu: Kakarbhitta department of immigration informed that the influx of tourists to Nepal from Bangladesh has decreased these days.
According to RSS, the entry of Bangladeshi tourists to Nepal from the entry point of Kakarbhitta which was recorded to be above 11,000 per year ten years ago has suddenly decreased to 2000 only.
In the last nine months of the current fiscal year, only 1727 tourists from Bangladesh have been reported to have entered Nepal.
In 2008, India had restricted the influx of tourists in the border areas because of the Mumbai blast incident.
Since then, Bangladeshi tourists have decreased, said the immigration office of Kakarbhitta. Bangladeshi tourists have to take Indian visa permission entering Nepal.
