Hiking, an alternative to preserve the tourist sites

Pokhara: Hikers Club Nepal has embarked upon preserving the tourist sites by initiating hiking through the tourist area Mattikhan in Pokhara.
The coordinator of the hiking team members Krishna Ranabhat said that it was their 8th time hiking efforts in the area of Mattikhan at Pokhara Municipality -21 to preserve enough potentials of tourist spots, reported RSS.
With the slogan “Hiking for health and tourism” inscribed in the flex banner, the team members of Hikers club have been hiking every Saturday through various tourist sites.
By now the hikers’ club has hiked through places such as Mirsa, Kahudanda, Shanti Stupa, Chilawne Kharka and Thulokot which are the major tourist spots in Pokhara said the report.
Such efforts were also aimed at promoting rural Village Tourism in close coordination with Village Tourism Promotion Forum, said Ranabhat.
Further coordination will also be made with Nepal Tourism Board to promote the short distance trekking trails, added Ranabhat. A total of 21 hikers had participated in the hiking led by Hikers Club Nepal.
