Bhote Koshi International River rafting competition to kick off from Tuesday
Kathmandu: The 18th Himalayan White Water Challenge-2019, an international river rafting competition, is commencing in the Bhote Koshi river in Sindhulchowk district with a mission to promote tourism in Nepal according to RSS report Sunday.
The river rafting competition is to be held from November 26 to 28 the Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA) will organize which. The river rafting competition includes rafting and kayaking.
NARA president Ganga Prasad Nepal said that as in the previous years, NARA is going to organize the kayak and corporate rafting race under the Challenge this year.
“The daring river rafting competition is being targeted to invite more tourists and spread the message about the Visit Nepal Year 2020 across the world,” said NARA President.
He further added that the Bhote Koshi River has been chosen as the venue for the competition because of the geographical proximity, the condition of the river and other technical reasons.
The kayaking competition will be held under three headings, namely salolome, boater cross, and downriver race. Group rafting race will be held under a single topic with the participation of the corporate houses.
The registration charges for rafting competitors will be Rs 5000 for foreigners and Rs 3000 for the Nepalese participants, said NARA.
Around 400 sportspersons from inland and abroad will participate in the competition. NARA had organized the kayaking and rafting race in the Marsyangdi River last year.
