Czech national Honza Havelka declared the winner of rafting competition

Kathmandu: Czech national Honza Havelka is the winner of the 18th Himalayan White Water Challenge-2019 held in Bhote Koshi River in Sindhupalchowk district from November 26 to 28, 2019.
The second position was begged by Suraj Gurung (Nepal), while the third position was begged by Reymond Chilini Titouan (France). Similarly, from among the female participants, Liz Heath (Australia), got the first position, followed by Maude Imbeau (Canada) as second and Sudha Rai (Nepal) as the third rank, respectively.

The winners were given purse award of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 as first, second and third along with certificates respectively. Former Minister and parliamentarian Agni Sapkota gave away the prizes to the winners of the competition.
All six winners from male and female participants
Total of 66 participants from 12 countries-Canada, Uk, Australia, and Europe -had participated in four categories such as Salalam, Boarter Cross, Downriver race and Sprint of Kayak during the competition. Teams of corporate rafting race had also participated in the competition.
The competition was held to promote the rivers of Nepal where world-renowned rivers exist, said Indra Rai, the secretary of the organizing committee of the competition.
Nepal Association of Rafting Agents (NARA) organized the international level competition with a mission to promote the tourism sector.
NARA president Ganga Prasad Nepal said such competition was organized to promote the impending Visit Nepal Year 2020 too.
