Nepal will make efforts to meet ICAO standard: Minister Bhattarai

Kathmandu: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said that all possible efforts will be made to meet International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard by the whole civil aviation mechanism in the next ten years.

In an interaction organized to discuss the master plan for upgrading and extending Bhadrapur Airport, he shared that the Nepal government was working on upgrading and extending the airports across the country to meet the ICAO standards and the objectives.

The Civil Aviation Minister said the Bhadrapur Airport would be upgraded as per the advanced master plan. The land acquisition process for upgrading the airport was underway as additional 100 bighas of lands were required.

Minister Bhattarai further urged all to cooperate for the same. Similarly, speaking during the same program, Civil Aviation Authority general manager Rajan Pokharel shared that a new terminal building was under construction (RSS).
