India leaves behind Nepal in medal tally

Kathmandu: India continues to lead the medal tally in the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) being held in Kathmandu by accumulating a total of 124 medals by Thursday evening with 62 gold, 41 silver, and 21 bronze medals.

The host country Nepal continues to retain the second rank by collecting a total of 101 with 36 gold, 27 silver and 38 bronze medals by Thursday evening. This number is likely to be increased by Friday morning events.

Similarly, Srilanka follows Nepal in the 3rd position in medal tally for securing a total of 107 medals with 17 gold, 35 silver, and 55 bronze.

Likewise, Pakistan in the 4rth position has a total of 62 medals with 15 gold, 23 silver, and 24 bronze medals.

Bangladesh holds the 5th position in the rank for having grabbed a total of 60 medals with 4 gold, 11 silver, 45 bronze medals. Maldives has so far got one gold and two bronze medals and Bhutan has got 6 bronze medals only.
