Triangular tourist destination to be promoted

Kathmandu: Organizers of Pokhara street carnival have stressed on the need to focus on launching a campaign to promote triangular tourist destinations- Janaki-Muktinath and Pashupatinath.

It was revealed during a briefing to the journalists in Kathmandu Friday that Pokhara street carnival will be organized on December 28, 29, 30, 31, 2019, and on January 1, 2019.

The participants during a press briefing and discussion program opined that there is a need to integrate the three religiously significant places of Janakpur, Muktinath, and Pashupatinath into a triangle tourist destination package.

Janakpurdham despite being the main source of Mithila cultures is not linked to any other international tour package, it will prove to be a corner stone said most of the participants of the discussions.

In the past too, discussions were brainstormed to launch Janakpur-Pokhara standard bus services but had not materialized. So, this subject was taken into consideration among the stakeholders.

Restaurants and Bar Association that organized the program also informed that Mithila culture and arts will be on display during the exhibition of the Pokhara street carnival.

The street carnival will also put on display the national and international cultural programs, endangered cultural programs, a variety of food items, entertaining sports, handicrafts, documentaries, concerts, songs, and Lokdohary.

Naresh Bhattarai who is an assistant coordinator of the Pokhara street carnival said that this festival will be the most magnificent one which will host cultural, religious and artistic programs of all seven provinces from across the country.
