Bardia to initiate VNY 2020 campaign in provincial state- 5

Kathmandu: Bardia district of western Nepal which is rich in Tharu cultural heritage will be the starting point of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 (VNY2020) campaign for the state government -5.

The state Ministry of Industry, Tourism, Forest and Environment decided to launch the state-level campaign for VNY 2020 from Bardia. The tourism department of the state has also prepared a slogan for this campaign which goes as “Let’s go to visit Bardiya” -Ghumna Jau Bardiya.

The provincial-level VNY 2020 secretariate has also been established in Butwal along with a 21-member committee formed under state Tourism Minister Lila Giri to serve the purpose of the campaign, whereas the state chief Minister Shankar Pokharel is the committee patron, according to a published report in Republica daily Tuesday.

The state government has also sanctioned a budget of Rs 20 million for the promotion of the VNY 2020 campaign while the federal government allocated a budget of Rs 2.5 million for the operation of the secretariat.

All twelve districts of the state-5, are also reported to have been preparing to promote the VNY 2020 campaign.
