Matsuya Maekawa awarded for branding “Ilam Tea” in Japan

Kathmandu: A Japanese national Matsuya Maekawa has been awarded an “International citizen service award 2019” in Kathmandu on December 21, 2019.

Nagrik Ekta Samaj honored Matsuya Maekawa with the award for selling and branding “Ilam Tea” in Japan. Matsuya Maekawa, born in Tokushima of Japan has been selling and branding the “Ilam Tea” in his shop known as “Chai Ilam” in his native town Tokushima for a long time by establishing a private company named- “Tea Party  Company Pvt Ltd.

Every time Matsuya visits Nepal is for purchasing the Ilam tea to be sold in Japan. He does not sell any other tea except the Ilam tea.

Matsuya, who has visited Nepal for at least 20 times says that he has visited Chitwan, Swambhu, Boudha and other tourist areas including places of architectural importance. “I like the hospitality of Nepal. So, I like to come to Nepal again. I wish to go on trekking to various places of Nepal, “says Matsuya.
