Northern Annapurna base camp to be promoted

Kathmandu: Northern base camp of Mt. Annapurna is to be promoted in the new fiscal year to lure tourists and garner Nepal Visit 2020. Myagdi’s Annapurna Rural Municipality is engaged in taking steps and measures to promote the trekking trail of the northern base camp of Annapurna these days.

The southern Annapurna base camp attracts thousands of tourists every year and it has become the most popular tourist trail while the tourists hardly attempt the northern base camp of Annapurna. The northern Annapurna base camp is located at 4,190 m which if improved and promoted in time can be as attractive as the southern base camp of the Annapurna.

So, Annapurna Rural Municipality is planning to build its infrastructures according to Dam Bahadur Garbuja, the chair of the rural municipality. He also said that since the northern Annapurna base camp is also equally significant and attractive like the southern one, greater efforts are being made to publicize it.

The northern base camp of Annapurna can be reached via Lek Gaun-Chhotepa-Humkhola-Sadhikharka and Bhuskekharka. This trail will be the shortest and both domestic and foreign tourists will like it.

The trekkers can also see the beautiful sights of Nilgiri North, Nilgiri Center, Nilgiri south and Tilicho. Wildlife such as musk deer, snow leopard and species of birds and be seen from this northern base camp of Annapurna.
