Visit Year to begin with cultural procession in Gandaki State

Kathmandu: Gandaki State government and tourism entrepreneurs here have stepped up their internal preparations to make Visit Nepal Year-2020 a success.

In order to allure both domestic and foreign tourists, a special program is to be organized in tourism city Pokhara on January 1.  The State government has formed a 15-member sub-committee led by Minister for Forest, Industry, Tourism and Environment Bikas Lamsal to officially welcome the Nepal Visit Year-2020.

Minister Lamsal shared preparation is underway to welcome the Visit Nepal Year at Pokhara in a grand manner so as to impart the message far and wide. “The internal visit year-2019 of Gandaki State is also coming to an end. We will review the efforts and the state government will take special initiative to make VNY-2020 a success”, he added.

The Minister also noted that they have laid emphasis on wider publicity to bring Gandaki’s culture, nature, and adventurous sports to the international level and expand tourism infrastructures.

Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki State chief Kashiraj Bhandari said the inaugural program would help explore tourism potentials of the Gandaki state to a new height. Likewise, Pokhara Tourism Council Chair Chiranjivi Pokharel informed the private sector is also putting its efforts to make the tourism year a success.

Cultural procession from all 11 districts of Gandaki state will be performed in the inaugural program, informed co-convener of the program, Agni Kandel. Gandaki State Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung will be the chief guest of the program.
