VNY 2020 inaugural ceremony ends amidst great pomp and show

Kathmandu: With the commencement of New Year 2020 on Wednesday (January 1) the Visit Nepal Year 2020 (VNY2020) inaugural ceremony has formally concluded at Ranghasala stadium in Kathmandu amidst great pomp and show.

President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari officially inaugurated the grand ceremony by igniting the flame of the ceremony, while Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai delivered his inaugural speech and invited foreign tourists to visit Nepal.

A plethora of multi-ethnic cultural glimpses was exhibited on the occasion for one hour besides displaying the message of “unity in diversity” by displaying the chorus of chanting religious hymns by Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs and Jains alike, while Hindu Pandits blew the conch cells to mark the auspicious occasion remarkably

Nepal’s film star Rajesh Hamal was also present on the occasion who also ignited the occasion with his encouraging words to the tourists to visit various rare destinations of Nepal during 2020.

All seven provincial Chief Ministers of Nepal present on the occasion also highlighted the significance of tourist destinations available in their respective states that can offer tantalizing tourist spots for the tourists to visit in 2020.

The grand inaugural ceremony was made more flavored due to the songs, music, dances presented by various famous bands and artists.   Visit Nepal 2020 is aimed at bringing about 2 million tourists in the country. It seems to be a feasible aim to be fulfilled as 1.2 million tourists have already visited Nepal in the last year 2018.
