NMA  to host 2nd Annual Ice Climbing festival through Feb 1-10

Kathmandu: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) is organizing a ten days 2nd Annual Ice Climbing festival from February 1 to 10, 2020 at Humde in Manang district.

This was stated in a press statement distributed at a press meet held in Kathmandu on Sunday. Humde is elevated at 3200m above sea level in Manang and the festival is being organized to promote winter adventure sports in Nepal in line with Visit Nepal 2020.

Throughout the festival, adventure seekers will be accompanied by the International Federation of Mountain Guides Association (IFMGA) guides who will lead interactive and educational climbing clinics to accommodate every skill level and ensure safety and accessible participation of all, the press statement said. The participants will also have the opportunity to ski, learn archery, engage in traditional dance and local cultural activities.

The Ice Climbing festival is Co-hosted by Nepal Climbing Team with the support of Visit Nepal 2020 secretariat, promoted by the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and technical support from Nepal National Mountain Guide Association (NNMGA) and Nepal Mountaineering Instructors’ Association (NMIA) added the statement.
