Government looking for an alternative to Chinese tourists

Kathmandu: Nepal government is now looking for an alternative to Chinese tourists by attracting tourists from other countries to fulfill the gap caused by a sudden slump in the inflow of Chinese tourists due to deadly epidemic Coronavirus pandemic in China.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai while speaking to tourism stakeholders in Kathmandu Saturday said, “We should now look into possibilities of fulfilling the gap produced following a sudden slump in the Chinese tourists’ arrival. For the time being, we should focus on other sources of supply fulfillment”

Minister Bhattarai also said, “Tourists who wish to visit China can be diverted to Nepal by spreading the message that Nepal is safe to travel.”
