Nepal Government prepares to evacuate Nepalese from China

Kathmandu: Nepal government is preparing to evacuate Nepalese from Hubei province of China, where the deadly Coronavirus outbreak has traumatized Nepalese.

The embassy of Nepal in China issuing notice on its official website on Saturday has asked all Nepalese living in Hubei province to fill up necessary forms and submit them to the embassy by February 2, 2020. The notice also said that the chartered flights will be arranged for those Nepalese who submit the online forms.

Meanwhile, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai in Kathmandu on Saturday while talking to the media said that the Nepal government is making all preparations to bring all the Nepalese from Hubei province of China.

“Two planes- One of the Himalaya Airlines and another plane of Nepal Airlines are ready to bring the Nepalese from China, although we have not yet decided about the quarantine system to be adopted for the Nepalese returning from China,” said Bhattarai.

However, the concerned doctors are reported to have advised the government to place the returnees under the quarantine system for at least fourteen days to prevent the Chinese viruse from spreading to their family members and others.

The government preparations to evacuate Nepalese from Hubei follows after various countries like Japan, the US, UK, South Korea, France, and even Bangladesh already evacuated their citizens from the Hube province of China.

The World Health Organiztion (WHO) has declared a global health emergency to allow smaller nations with weaker health systems to take appropriate measures against the epidemic killer virus.

At least 259 people are reported to have died of the Chinese virus, so far while more than 10,000 people seem to be vulnerable to this virus so far and it has spread to at least 20 countries around the world.
