Hotels in Nepal are safe

Kathmandu: All hotels of Nepal are safe and no inmates so far have been found infected with Chinese Coronavirus.

This was stated in a joint press statement released by the Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) and Visit Nepal 2020 secretariat in Kathmandu.

The statement also said that all foreign guests have been pre-cautioned against Coronavirus and round the clock facilities have been provisioned to take action for any incidents related to the epidemic.

President of HAN Srijana Rana during the press meet also said that coordination was being made with various relevant stakeholders including Nepal Tourism Board, Visit Nepal 2020 secretariat, Nepal government, HAN to minimize the negative impact of Corona virus in the tourism industry.

The National Coordinator for Visit Nepal 2020 Suraj Vaidhya speaking during the press meet said that although Nepal is observing national crisis due to pandemic Chinese Coronavirus epidemic and the Chinese tourist arrival has slumped down drastically, yet the optimism still prevails in the tourism sector.

Vaidya also said that although Nepal is safe for guests, yet due to lack of appropriate dissemination of information to the outer world the crisis has caused the cancellation of hotel bookings by the guests. Visit Nepal 2020 expected at least 3 to 5 hundred thousand Chinese tourists.
