Nepalese students in Wuhan desperately waiting to return
Wuhan city of China
Kathmandu: Nepalese students living in Wuhan province of China are feeling traumatic as the Nepal government delays their evacuation from this Chinese city which is the epicenter of the Novel Coronavirus.
Some of the students are reported to be on the verge of frustration and mental breakdown. “If the Nepal government is not willing to evacuate us anytime soon, it should stop giving us false hopes and mere sympathy,” said Dr. Gaurab Pokhrel.
About 180 Nepalese students are desperately waiting to return to Nepal from Wuhan. “The streets of the city are empty and there is a shortage of daily requirements like food and water. We remain inside our rooms, watchTV, and sleep. It’s so hard,” said one of the students. About 4,000 new cases of coronavirus were reported in China on Tuesday alone, with death as many as 500.
The Nepali Embassy in Beijing and Nepal government Kathmandu are reported to be still working on preparations to evacuate the students back to Nepal. However, due to delay in fixation of quarantine location has been the major cause of delay in evacuation of Nepalese from Wuhan province.
