Padma Kanya Students’ Cycle Rally against Women’s Violence
Kathmandu: Padma Kanya Campus students studying in Bachelor of Business Management (BBM) in the 7th semester organized a cycle rally 2020 against women’s violence on Saturday.
According to Cycle rally coordinator Yogendra Singh Basnyat, the cycle rally was organized to raise awareness against women’s violence, raise awareness for sanitation and healthy life and for promotion of domestic tourism in the country.Basnyat also said that cycle rally was important to make Visit Nepal 2020 campaign a success, as the use of cycle could solve the problems of traffic jams, environmental pollution and could be a healthy practice of its users.Similarly, one of the students of BBM 7th semester and participants of cycle rally, Sabita Oli said that the cycle rally was being organized to raise awareness against women’s violence such as an acid attack, rape, sexual molestation while promoting Visit Nepal 2020 side by side.Yogendra Singh Basnyat (Coordinator of cycle rally)
Around 200 students participated in the cycle rally. The cycle rally that began from Padma Kanya Campus premises passed through Putalisadak, Anamnagar, Babar Mahal, Maitighar Mandal, Thapathali, Pulchowk, Patan Durbar Square, Tripureswor, Rangshala, New Road, Basantpur, Jamal and finally arrived at Padama Kanya campus to disperse.Smriti Tiwari, another student who participated in the rally said that through the medium of cycle rally the two world heritage sites- Patan in Lalitpur and Basantpur Durbar Square -have been connected and related message of tourism spread among the stakeholders.
