Fear of Coronavirus to adversely impact Everest expedition

Everest Base camp

Kathmandu: The Everest expedition season which runs from March to May is likely to adversely impact as the outbreak of epidemic Coronavirus shows no sign of abating.

The Everest expedition operators are reportedly under the fear that since Chinese climbers have canceled their Everest climbing plans owing to fear of Coronavirus, the Everest climbing activities from March to May will be marred.

Pasang Sherpa, an entrepreneur for expedition shared that seven of his Chinese Everest climbers canceled their plans to climb Everest in this season.

Another tourism entrepreneur Damber Parajuli says that now there is no chance of expecting Everest climbers from countries like China, South Korea, Japan, and Iran.

Tourism entrepreneurs also said that the government should chalk out a concrete plan to dispel the fear of coronavirus and facilitate the operation of expeditions in different mountains.
