Govt to reschedule Sagarmatha Sambad and VN 2020
Kathmandu: Nepal government has decided to reschedule two main events -Visit Nepal 2020 and Sagarmatha Sambad amid the pandemic fear of Coronavirus.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli in the cabinet meeting held on Monday directed the ministers to reschedule these two events in the wake of the unavoidable situation caused by the outbreak of Coronavirus, although the final dates have not been fixed for these two events. Earlier, the date for a three day Sagarmatha Sambad for a global dialogue on climate change was fixed on April 2.
The cabinet also decided to postpone the issuance of an on-arrival visa for foreigners from March 7. The nationals of Hongkong, China, Japan, Italy, Iran, and South Korea will not be given visa on arrival said government sources.
A decision has also been made to dissuade holding domestic as well as international Megha public events temporarily. The government meeting also decided over halting flights to and from coronavirus infected countries including halting the outflow of migrant workers.
The government is also reported to be mulling over issuing travel advisory asking Nepalese travelers not to travel to coronavirus hit countries.
