Minister Bhattarai and Chinese envoy Yanqi discuss Coronavirus issue

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Yogesh Bhattarai and Chinese ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi have held a meeting in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Tourism Minister Bhattarai and Chinese envoy Hou Yanqi during their meeting held at Tourism Ministry discussed the burning issue related to the spread of epidemic Coronavirus as a problem and preventive measures against this lethal disease.

During the meeting, Chinese envoy to Nepal Hou Yanqi briefed about the ways and means adopted by China in controlling and preventing Coronavirus.

Yanqi shared that around 59,000 Chinese infected by Coronavirus have returned home after being treated in the hospitals. She also confided in that China will soon be freed from the infections of Coronavirus.

Indicating towards negligible chances of spread of COVID-19 in Nepal, Yanqi assured Bhattarai that China will extend its full support to control and prevent the spread of Coronavirus in case it spreads in Nepal, adding that China is ready to share any information and support related to Coronavirus.

Minister Bhattarai during the meeting also briefed Chinese envoy that Nepal is all set to control and prevent Coronavirus including health desk established at the international airport, the arrangement of isolation wards in hospitals and necessary quarantine managed.

Minister also informed Yanqi that public programs are banned to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in Nepal.
