71 Chinese workers quarantined in Pokhara

Kathmandu: Seventy-one Chinese workers engaged in the construction works of Pokhara International Airport have been quarantined after they returned from China between March 4 and 6.

These Chinese workers had returned from Chengdu and Beijing after the celebration of the Chinese New Year. They have been put in the isolation ward at the project site according to Airport project chief Binesh Munkarmi.

Earlier, 36 Chinese workers upon their return from China were also quarantined and asked to join their works after they tested negative for Coronavirus.

A total of 190 Chinese workers are at work at Pokhara regional international airport, said Munkarmi.

Binod Bindu Sharma, who is Director of Gandaki Province Health Directorate said his office was regularly monitoring the health conditions of the Chinese workers not only at Pokhara airprt, but also at Hongshi Cement Factory at Nawalprasi, Narayangadh-Butwal road section, and Nyadi Hydropower Project.
