Lumbini as main tourist hub says Tourism Minister

Kathmandu: Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Ministry Yogesh Bhattarai Wednesday said that Lumbini should be promoted as the main tourist hub in Nepal.

Speaking during the inaugural session of Lumbini Development Trust, Minister Bhattarai said that promotion of Lumbini as a tourist hub should be accomplished through a greater Lumbini master plan by connecting with Gautam Buddha related historical and philosophical aspects of life.

“Nepal is well known as the country of diversity. It is the birth land of Lord Gautam Buddha. Lumbini should be promoted as the Buddha circuit. Attention must be paid to prolong the tourists’ stay in Lumbini,” said the Minister.

Minister also said that Lumbini will be connected with Gautam Buddha International Airport after its completion, which will boost up the local economy. Minister also divulged that Coronavirus has adversely affected the construction of the airport.
