Quaratine place capable of accommodating 5000 people to be constructed in valley

Kathmandu: The quarantine place construction and management working committee under the leadership of Minister for Culture, Tourism, Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has decided to construct a quarantine place capable of accommodating 5000 people in Kathmandu valley. The quarantine place can also be transformed into a temporary hospital in case of urgency.

The working committee meeting held on Sunday also decided to recommend for construction of quarantine place for 2000 people in each of the Provinces and Metropolitan cities, quarantine  place for 1000 people in Sub metropolitan cities and  Rural municipalities other than hilly rural municipalities, construction of quarantine place capable of accommodating 500 people in hilly region rural municipalities and at least 2000 bed quarantine place in terra’s  Sub metropolitan cities, municipalities and rural municipalities.

The working committee for construction of Quarantine place against COVID-19 held under the leadership of Culture, tourism and civil aviation minister Yogesh Bhattarai on Sunday took these decisions as per the delegated decisions of the meeting of high level committee held under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharal.

The decision taken today also entails Home Ministry, Health Ministry and four wings of the security forces including Nepal army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and National Investigation department to prepare draft plans and plan of action by involving Finance Ministry to allocate the budget and resources needed in this operation of activities to construct quarantine place.

The department of tourism and Nepal Tourism Board are to coordinate with Hotel Association to come up with design and decisions for a quarantine place to accommodate 2000 people.

The government decision also entails organizations such as PABSON, NPABSAN and HISSAN to come up with possible place for quarantine place to accommodate 2000 people.
