IOC defers Summer Olympic set for Tokyo

Kathmandu: The International Olympic Committee on Tuesday deferred the summer olympic which is slated to be held in Tokyo this summer owing to global terror created by the rapid spread of Coronavirus pandemic and mounting fatalities.

The IOC acted on the recommendation of Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, adding the Olympics to a long roster of sports events canceled due to the fatal outbreak of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, World Health Organization has cautioned the world that Coronavirus infections across the world are expected to increase considerably in the upcoming days.

According to WHO, Europe overtaking the epicenter of Coronavirus has caused 85% infections across Europe and United States with Spain registering a record daily increase of 6,584 new infections and a leap of 500 in the death toll to 2,696.

The latest reports related to Coronavirus say that more than 387,000 people worldwide are infected with COVID-19 and above 16,700 have died and Italy has witnessed more than 6000 fatalities due to Coronavirus.

In the U.S, more than 46,000  people have been infected and 530 people have died due to COVID-19.
