NATTA requests travel agencies to provide info on passengers

Kathmandu: Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has urged all the travel agencies to provide the information regarding those passengers arriving in Nepal along with COVID-19-infection.

In a press statement issued Monday, NATTA President Achuyt Guragain appealed to the travel agencies to provide information about the passengers arriving in Nepal by Qatar Airlines on March 17 and Vistara Airlines on March 20.

From among the Nepalese traveling in these flights, three were tested positive for COVID-19. The press statement reads, “We are trying to support the government’s effort to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic by identifying those foreign returnees arriving in Nepal by air.”

NATTA stated that it was the duty of all citizens to comply with the directives issued by the State to help contain the deadly virus. NATTA has also urged all the citizens to observe the nationwide lockdown enforced by the government since March 24 to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Also, those arriving in Nepal are requested to stay in self-quarantine to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19, added the statement (RSS).
