Kathmandu: A special chartered Qatar Airlines aircraft has taken off from Tribhuvan International Airport, with nearly 300 American citizens on board Tuesday.
These American citizens are reported to have been stranded in various parts of the country due to the country’s extended lockdown imposed to contain the spread of deadly Coronavirus.
Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) on Monday evacuated these stranded American citizens from various tourist areas of the country and brought them to Kathmandu for departure. Qatar airlines aircraft is expected to reach the United States via Doha.
Earlier, the stranded citizens of European union including French and German nationals had departed to their country via three chartered flights.
Similarly, on Wednesday night Nepal airlines will be taking off to Australia carrying Australian citizens on board.
