SAARC faces COVID-19 death toll of 160 and confirmed cases in nearly 7000

Kathmandu: SAARC has reported a death toll of 160 people and confirmed cases in nearly 7000 people due to escalating adverse effects of deadly Coronavirus in the region.

According to John Hopkins University, India is the largest country among the SAARC countries and it tops the list of SAARC countries infected with Coronavirus with the Indian death toll due to this virus soaring to 99 and confirmed cases of virus seen in more than 3588 people.

Pakistan has reported the second-highest Coronavirus infection with its number spiking to 2818 people with the death toll reaching 41.

Bangladesh has witnessed 8 fatalities due to the deadly virus, while Afganistan and Srilanka have recorded a death toll of 7 and 5 respectively.

Although Coronavirus infection has been seen in almost all 8 nations of the SAARC yet death has occurred in 5 nations so far and 3 nations such as Bhutan, Maldives, and Nepal have not yet encountered death toll due -to this invisible enemy.
