Government to intensify tests for COVID-19
Kathmandu (RSS): Government’s High-Level Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Control of COVID-19 has decided to increase the number of tests for coronavirus.
The 19th meeting of the high-level Committee held in Singha Durbar on Wednesday took this decision in view of the risky situation due to global coronavirus pandemic. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence, Ishwor Pokhrel.
“Coronavirus infection is spreading. So, the meeting decided to expedite more COVID-19 tests to contain this deadly virus. A team of health workers will be mobilized to achieve the maximum number of tests” said Minister Pokhrel. The decision also facilitates the private sector in the import of medical supplies.
Similarly, the meeting decided to ease the transportation of goods to ensure the smooth supply of essential goods in the country. According to the Ministry of Health, Rapid diagnostic tests have been carried on more than 15000 people.
