Kathmandu: As the entire world tirelessly battles against the invisible enemy, as many as 2,355,337 people around the world continue to suffer from the deadly contagion and 162,013 have given up the ghosts, while 595,433 people have recuperated from this deadly virus as of Sunday.
The US reported over 39,000 deaths and infected rate goes up to 735,000 according to John Hopkins University.
Italy reported 23,227 deaths, which is the second-highest in the world, followed by Spain’s death toll estimated at 20,453 while France has recorded 19,323 deaths due to the contagion.
Spain reported infected cases of the virus with its number rising to 194,416 followed by Italy estimated at 175,925 while France has active cases estimated at 152,978. The UK reported 15,464 deaths and confirmed cases of 15,464.
Likewise,Germany reported 4538 deaths and infected cases rising to 143,724. Belgium has recorded deaths of 5,453 people and the number of people infected soaring to 37,183. Similarly, Netherland has 3,601 deaths and infected cases as many as 31,589.
In Asia, China recorded 4,512 deaths and the infected number of people estimated to be 83,804. Japan reported 222 deaths, Russia 313 and South Korea 234 due to this pathogen, while, Iran has confirmed cases of 80,868 and a death toll of 5,031 people.
Similarly, Malaysia has reported 88 deaths while Philippines recorded 397 deaths and Indonesia recorded deaths of 535 people so far. Thailand has recorded deaths of 47 people while Singapore has reported the death of 11 people.
In the SAARC region India reported 521 deaths while Pakistan reported death toll of 143 people. Bangladesh has reported 84 deaths while Srilanka has witnessed deaths of 7 people.
Nepal has 31 confirmed cases of which 3 persons have already recovered from the epidemic. Maldives has 29 positive cases of which 16 cases have recovered. Butan reported 5 positive cases of which two persons have recovered.
In Africa, Algeria has reported 367 deaths with 2534 infected cases of Coronavirus and South African reported a death toll of 52 people with 3,034 infected cases while Egypt reported a 224 deaths with 3,032 infected cases.
