Hotel revenue to decline by 90% due to COVID-19

Kathmandu: Hotel revenue in Nepal seems to decline by 90% due to adverse effect of the COVID-19 according to Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN).

In a press statement released on Thursday HAN called upon the government to immediately chalk out a special policy to protect the declining hotel revenue as most of the hotel services remain suspended due to the global Coronavirus pandemic.

HAN also reminded the government about the repetition of decline of hotel revenue by 50% during 2004-2005 due to armed struggle in Nepal.

During that time the hotels such as Sherpa, Woodland, Narayani and Bluestar had closed down due to decline in revenue.
