UNWTO: World’s 94% destinations prohibited due to COVID-19

Kathmandu: World’s 94% travel destinations are now totally prohibited due to global COVID-19 pandemic according to the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).

Most of the countries around the world now have imposed restrictions upon the advent of foreigners in their countries as most of the international flights and hotels are closed due to the Coronavirus. The flights are limited to humanitarian needs and cargo supply says a UNWTO survey report.

As many as 90 countries have imposed 100% ban on foreigners while 44 nations have opened their countries for foreigners by imposing certain conditions. Such actions have caused total collapse of tourism sector.

COVID-19 has also caused unemployment for millions of people. UNWTO has also cautioned the entire world against the repercussions of poverty and economic problem created by global Coronavirus pandemic across the world.
